Sunset Rose

7" x 7.5" ~ Watercolor on Paper

This piece seems rather anti-climactic after the still life posting. But it's just as lovely. The gentle variations of color in the petals. Soft and flowing. I used the quins: rose, violet, red. Lots of "pop" with those quin boys. Added some gamboge to the center area to make things interesting. Lots of squinting to make sure the values were right. Enjoy it.

I love the brightness and vibrancy of this and the subtle blended background just makes the rose pop from the page and the rose centre is just so delicate and dainty

Another beautiful painting

Beautiful use of blended washes. As usual, the light just makes me gasp with delight. Thanks for info on colours used. Love that gamboge touch.
