Pink Dahlia

7" x 9" ~ Watercolor on Paper

There may have to be an intervention. Someone may need to come and take my pink paints away. :~) I can't help it. Shall I change the name of the blog to Contemporary Pinks? Pink Realism? Please indulge my pink addiction. I loved everything about this watercolor. Everything. Dahlias are such an explosion of color. Such a nice play of shadows on the leaves too. Another Pretty in Pink for you to enjoy....

There are so many shades of pink that each and every bloom always brings a new delight. Noticing of late how your backgrounds are getting even darker to show up the glory of your work.

It a beautiful painting Jacqueline! The highlights are done very nicely and pink is one of my favorites too!

Hi Joan, I do love the dark backgrounds, they "pop" everything so nicely. :~)

Thank you Sadia. Pink flowers are just so lovely. I think we'll find a lot of people with my same "addiction"

moderation vs addiction, I'll go with your wonderful pinks every (any) day. Can't wait for your video.

Everyone is always so nice to me. Gosh. Thank you Guy and to everyone who always say such nice things about my watercolors. :~)

Oh I laughed at your call for an intervention...those pink paintings seem to sell very well. So I guess the intervention needs to be more global!

Can't wait for your video! I will be one of the first to order it.

Nothing wrong with having a pink fetish, especially if you're going to work it the way you do in your paintings! Lovely light in this one.

Please don't stop the pink. I just found your sight but would have snatched up the dahlia had it been for sale. Your work is beautiful.

Thank you Kayce. I love the Dahlia too, and glad it found a good home. And in answer to your other comment...there will always be more strawberries and pears in my future. :~)

Love it and nothing wrong with Pink, I have a seven year old grandaugher called Holly and if its pink any type of pink she just loves it.

I used to have lots of Dahlias in my garden but the little squirrels got to the tubers and that was the end of them
