Magnolia - Gray Period

6" x 6" ~ Oil on Hardboard

Well, lots was accomplished last week, probably too much. So we're on to Oil Painting Week, all week, this week. :~) It will be fun. My first oil this week is a Magnolia, with a soft, delicate gray background. I love the color combination of gray with pink and white. And, by the way the Magnolias buds here in the Midwest are starting to open. We had a 20 degree temperature over the weekend, but I think they weren't open enough to cause harm. But this week it's supposed to get up to 70 degrees....what :~) If I get all of my work done this week...the lake might be beckoning us. The boys need to go visit our beautiful Lake Michigan and maybe do some swimming...we'll see, depends on how cold it is. Maybe by the shore it'll be a tad warmer so at least they can wade.

Thank you Carmelina! Glad to have you joining us.

Hi Bonnie, usually the water by the shore is warm. With all that hair the boys don't seem to mind it. :~) Thanks for the kind comment on the Magnolia. :~)

Magnolia time again, love the way you get the waxy look to the petals and they are always so dramatic looking
