Red Iris - Oil

"Red Iris"
6" x 6" ~ Oil on Hardboard

Enjoyed doing all of the details of this Iris. All of the veining and ribbing. Enjoying the oils immensely. :-) It's really turned to winter here. The high today was 22 degrees. (And for my friends in Australia, that's Fahrenheit not Celsius....unfortunately) We've gotten I believe a foot of snow, and it's been snowing that gentle "snow globe" snow all day. The boys, especially Thorn have been in 7th heaven. They love it so much. And it's so fun to watch them, being all black, chasing each other in the snow. Fun times in the Midwest.

Jacqueline, this is absolutely gorgeous! I wish you would produce a DVD of how you use your oils....

Oh, WOW! Gorgeous, gorgeous colours, especially set against the black background, and wonderful detail. An eyecatcher!

Thank you Christiane. An oil dvd....hmmm.

Thanks Lisa. It was a green mottled background, but after giving it some time, I looked at it again and thought it was too busy and didn't highlight the Iris like it should. So we went with the black and loved it!
